Clear boundaries and consent in the ABDL community are essential whenever others are involved. For many people, wearing diapers is a private, solitary activity. For others, it involves a partner, friends or community events. Wherever other people are involved, clear boundaries and consent are essential.
Core principles
- Adults only. Everyone involved must be 18 or older. There are no exceptions.
- Informed consent. People should understand and freely agree to what’s involved, and can withdraw at any time.
- No involving the unaware. Don’t involve strangers, coworkers or roommates in your interest without their knowledge and agreement.
- Respect for public spaces. Keep private activities private.

With a partner
Talk openly about what each of you is and isn’t comfortable with, revisit it over time, and accept a “no” gracefully.
Online
Never share images or details of others without permission, and report any content involving minors immediately. Healthy communities are built on trust.
A note on respect and safety: This community is for adults only, and good spaces are built on consent, privacy and kindness. Use a separate username and email for community sites, avoid sharing photos or details that could identify you, and never share anyone else’s information. If something online makes you uncomfortable, use block and report tools. And remember that people wear for many reasons, medical and personal, so lead with curiosity rather than assumptions.
Quick checklist: Start with a product that matches your absorbency needs, measure your waist and hips before choosing a size, and try samples before buying in bulk. Change promptly, clean gently and use a light barrier cream to protect your skin. Keep a small kit with a spare, wipes and a disposal bag when you go out. If you notice new or worsening leaks, pain, or changes in your urine, talk to a doctor, since many causes of incontinence are treatable.
