Brand Spotlight: DryBritches and the Posy Diaper

Big absorbency. Bright prints. That is the motto of DryBritches, a little diaper company in Portland, Oregon. DryBritches makes high-absorbency, plastic-backed adult diapers with its own artwork on them, for anyone who wants real protection that doesn’t look like it came from a hospital supply closet. Its first diaper is Posy by DryBritches.

Meet Posy

Posy wears its personality on the outside: a pastel flower checkerboard in sky blue, bubblegum pink, butter yellow and lavender, with striped wings and a lavender waistband. Under the print is a smooth plastic (PE film) backing, and the diaper is rated at 9,000 mL, which puts it in high-capacity territory alongside many overnight diapers.

Why hook-and-loop tabs?

Instead of adhesive tapes, Posy closes with four hook-and-loop tabs. They can be opened and refastened many times without losing grip, which is handy for fit checks, adjustments and caregivers. The trade-off is a slightly bulkier closure than flat tapes. The printed “BACK” label on the rear panel also makes it easy to tell which way round the diaper goes.

Sizes and buying options

Posy comes in two sizes: Medium for waists of 28 to 36 inches and Large for 36 to 48 inches. If you measure right around 36 inches, the 2-diaper sample pack is an inexpensive way to try both before committing. Once you know your size, 10-packs suit occasional use and cases of 40 bring the cost per diaper down. Orders ship from Portland to the US, Canada and beyond; check drybritches.com for current prices and shipping details.

Who it’s for

Posy suits anyone who wants a single, well-defined, high-capacity plastic diaper with refastenable tabs and a cheerful pastel look rather than a clinical one.

Before you order: Check the size chart against your own waist and hip measurements rather than assuming your usual size, because sizing varies between makers. Try a sample in the situation you’ll actually use it, such as overnight, and note fit, comfort, noise and any leaks. Compare the price per diaper, not just the price per bag, and look at shipping costs and packaging if privacy matters to you. Finally, read the return policy before you buy, since opened hygiene products usually can’t be sent back.

Getting the most from any brand: Start with the smallest pack available until you’re sure about fit and comfort. Write down your measurements and the size you chose so reordering is easy. Consider a booster pad for very long nights. Watch for case discounts and seasonal sales once you’ve found a favorite, and sign up for the brand’s newsletter for restock alerts. If anything arrives damaged or wrong, contact customer service promptly with photos of the packaging.
