CAPCon is the convention that many people in the adult diaper and ABDL world plan their whole year around. Short for the Chicago Age Players Convention, it is widely described as the oldest and largest ageplay convention in existence, and for many attendees it’s the one weekend a year they can be completely themselves among friends. Here’s what CAPCon is, what happens there, and how to make the most of your first visit.

What is CAPCon?
CAPCon is an annual gathering, convention, conference and vendor expo for adult babies, diaper lovers (ABDLs) and other ageplayers. It has run every year since 2010 and is organized by Chicago Age Players. It is strictly an 18+ event; the organizers are firm that minors may not attend or interact with the convention in any way.
The event is known for its “hotel takeover” format. Rather than renting a few meeting rooms, CAPCon fills an entire host hotel, so attendees can relax, dress the way they like and stay in their headspace for the whole weekend without worrying about the general public. One long-time attendee and presenter calls it the community’s unofficial annual reunion.
A short history of CAPCon
- 2010: the first CAPCon is held in the Chicago area.
- 2018: the eighth convention sells out its host hotel and opens an overflow hotel to keep up with demand.
- 2020: CAPCon celebrates its tenth anniversary.
- 2025 and 2026: with the usual Chicago host hotel undergoing major renovations, the organizers run alternate events instead. The 2026 edition, themed “Adventures in Wonderland,” moves to Minneapolis–St. Paul on March 4–8, 2026.
Over the years, CAPCon has also inspired other events. The founder of KangaCon, Australia’s first ageplay convention, has said his trips to CAPCon helped convince him to start one at home.
What happens at CAPCon?
Classes and panels
A big part of CAPCon is its conference program: curated classes and panels led by experienced community members. Topics range widely, from caregiving and relationships to self-acceptance and the history of the ABDL community.
The vendor expo
The vendor hall is a highlight for many diaper wearers. It’s one of the few places where you can see, touch and buy adult diapers, furniture, clothing and toys in person instead of guessing from photos online. Brands such as Tykables have sponsored and partnered with CAPCon, and NorthShore Care Supply lists CAPCon among the stops on its 2026 event circuit.
The pageant and main-stage shows
CAPCon’s pageant is a talent-show-style event where attendees audition and then perform for the whole convention. The main stage also hosts shows and performances throughout the weekend.
Spaces for every part of the community
The convention sets aside dedicated spaces for different groups within the wider community, including middles, furries and pup players. Areas for more adult-oriented interests are kept separate, so attendees can choose the experience that suits them.
Beyond the convention weekend
The organizers also run CAPCast, an official podcast covering convention news and behind-the-scenes stories, and have announced a recurring tabletop gaming league in partnership with Little Troubles for people who want a shorter weekend experience.
Tips for your first CAPCon
- Book early. Host hotels have sold out in past years. Watch the official channels for when badges and rooms go on sale.
- Read the rules before you buy. Buying a badge means agreeing to the convention’s rules and code of conduct, so read them carefully.
- Bring more supplies than you think you need. Pack extra diapers, wipes, cream and disposal bags; you’ll likely be changing more often than at home, and you may want to try new products from the vendor hall.
- Protect your privacy. Ask before photographing anyone, never post someone else’s image without permission, and think about what you share on social media about your own attendance.
- Pace yourself. Four or five days of classes, shopping and socializing is a lot. Plan some quiet time, drink plenty of water and get enough sleep.
- Say hello. Many first-timers arrive nervous and leave with friends. Classes and meetups are an easy way to start conversations.
Consent, safety and respect
CAPCon is built on the same principles as any healthy adult community: everyone is an adult, everyone consents, and everyone’s privacy is respected. Follow the staff’s guidance, respect people’s boundaries, and remember that attendees come for many different reasons, from medical diaper wearers looking for community to people who enjoy ageplay as a hobby.
How to find CAPCon dates and tickets
CAPCon traditionally takes place in late winter or early spring, but dates, cities and hotels can change, especially while the original Chicago venue is being renovated. For the latest information on upcoming events, badges and hotel rooms, check the official site at capcon.club and CAPCon’s official social media accounts.
Diaperology is not affiliated with CAPCon. Event details are based on public information and may change, so always confirm with the organizers.
